Register .COM.NP Domain For Lifetime (Updated 2021)

Mercantile has been providing us free registration domain since ancient times. Do you want to register domain because you are starting to blog ? Keep reading till you know how to.

Why domain ?

I understand that .com domains look really neat but do not underestimate The domain is for those of us who do not want to invest in a domain name. As it literally costs even a single rupee. And it is free for lifetime.

Also, there is a popular misconception about Google not ranking domains. It is not true, you can very much rank domains as any other domain.

So the bottom line is if you want a domain name for free you use the domain. But you can still need to get a web hosting, and if you need a decent hosting you need to invest some amount. But it is generally around Rs. 2,000 per year.

Requirements for domain

That brings us to the question: What do you need to register a domain ?

  • Scanned citizenship front and back
  • A cover letter for domain registration
  • 10 minutes of your time

Do not worry if you do not know how to write the cover letter. I will guide you through it later in the process.

Step by step registering domain

Follow the steps below to register a domain. And yes replace the details in with your own details.

Also make sure you have registered to the domain if you have not already, register here.

Check domain availability

You can check the availability of the domain by simply heading over to All you have to do is enter the desired domain name in the input box provided.

One thing to note here is that the name must be related to the one in your citizenship. That means you cannot order a, with a citizenship named Purna Bahadur. I haven’t actually tried it though, you can try your luck.

check availability

If the domain is available you will encounter something like shown in the image below. If the domain is not available change your spelling and make it work for you.

After proceeding with register now, you will be prompted to login if you have not already logged in. Do that and follow along.

Filling in the registration details

To register the domains we need to provide the following details.

  1. The name servers address ( at least 2 ), also you cannot provide IP
  2. Administrative contact
  3. Technical contact

Now that you know what a name server is, we can continue.

Both the technical and administrative contact input you see are same in most of the cases. Fill it up and then make sure you have to fill in the details on all the fields marked with * before you can continue.

Finally click save and continue.

Attaching required document

Here is a list of documents that you must compulsorily add.

  1. Citizenship ( front and back )
  2. Cover letter

Add the scanned citizenship both front and back. You can add multiple files so either upload front and back separately or upload the combined version.

For cover letter you can use this awesome cover letter generator I made. Just fill in the details and it will generate the letter for you.

You can just screenshot the shown image and crop it using windows snipping tool.

And the last step is to chose the cover letter from the option and select the screenshot of the cover image.

When you have provided both the images you are ready to request the new domain. Just click the Request domain button at the bottom and you’re done.
